There are times when some of my clients do not qualify for an ACA health insurance plan or they are too young for Medicare. If this is your situation one website that you can use to find local health coverage is Texas Cancer Information.
Texas Cancer Information
You do not need to have cancer to use this website. The main reason that I use it and refer other clients to it is because they have a tool that allows you to see indigent care networks or county clinics where you can get healthcare if you are uninsured.
In addition this website will also show you federally qualified health clinics in your area. These are clinics that are funded by the government and specifically cater to uninsured individuals.
Use the link below to find both county clinics and federally qualified health clinics (FQHC):
https://www.texascancer.info/access/accesstocare.html

The screenshot above is what the page will look like. The only question that matters is “Where does the patient live”. Select your county, check any of the next options, and then hit Submit Question.
The next page will show you the county clinics that serve your area.

If you scroll further down the page you will see the FQHCs that server your area.

Find A Health Center (FQHC finder)
Another way to find health clinics that treat the uninsured is to visit a website called HRSA. Here you will find a database of FQHCs in every state.
First start by visiting:
https://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov
You’ll be taken to a screen that looks like this below.

Now enter your zip code and you’ll see the FQHC clinics in your area that will treat you even if you are uninsured.
Texas ACA Plans
If you have not already checked to see if your monthly income will qualify you for government assistance paying for a health insurance plan visit Texas ACA Plans.
Here you can enter your zip code, monthly income, and household size to see if the government will help you with a portion of your monthly health insurance premium.
Below is a screenshot of the Texas ACA Plans website.

Conclusion
If you do not qualify for assistance paying for Obamacare plans in Texas your next options are to either use the Texas Cancer Information website to learn what county clinics and FQHC clinics are near you. Both options work well for those who are uninsured.
You can also use the Find a Halth Center website to find federally qualified clinics that treat people who are uninsured in Texas.
